About the Founders — Elise & Penny

Lady News is created by Elise and Penny, two friends and media makers who believe in honest storytelling, clear information, and conversations that actually help people feel seen, supported, and informed.

Elise is a journalist and photographer with a long history of telling stories that matter. She’s spent years working across newsrooms, media, public affairs and community advocacy, and brings curiosity, clarity, and compassion to every interview and every story.

Penny has worked in radio across Australia and holds a Graduate Diploma in Commercial Radio Broadcasting from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, where she met her co-founder, Elise. With a deep love for bringing stories to life through sound, she has expanded into podcast production and, as a writer, brings both professional expertise and life experience to Lady News.

Together, Elise and Penny combine journalism, creativity, and strong values to make Lady News a space for thoughtful conversation, practical information, and stories that help all of us understand the systems around us a little better.

Lady News is their shared project that is built with care, community, and a very real belief that storytelling has the power to bring us together.
